Missy Gators grabs a district win on senior night

The Vicksburg High School volleyball team remain undefeated in district play after playing Brookhaven High on senior night.

Senior night proved to be successful for the VHS team after beating Brookhaven High in a 3-0 set.

“It was an absolute team effort tonight and I was so happy to see how my seniors stepped up,” head coach Deborah Brown said.

Lili Kistler led the Missy Gators in the first set where she got seven points while serving in the first set, 25-16 win.

Freshman Kennedy Mullins also grabbed seven point in the 25-6 second set while senior LaDaja McGruder stepped up with eight points in the 25-8 final set.

Seniors McGruder, Mary Katherine Archer, Jayln Davis and ArShayla Johnson were all able to celebrate their win in front of their families.

The Missy Gators will travel to Florence on Tuesday where they have a chance of becoming district champions.
