Motor vehicle crash on Highway 61 North

At 2:53 p.m. on Friday, Vicksburg Police officers and Vicksburg Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the area of Highway 61 North at the intersection with North Washington Street for a motor vehicle crash involving a Chevrolet pick-up truck and an 18-wheeler.

The driver of the Chevrolet was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

The condition of the person injured in the accident is not known at this time. Additional information will be released when possible.
