Motorcyclist died in I-20 crash on Sunday night

An accident on Interstate 20 east of Edwards, Miss., has claimed the life of a Jackson man.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol was on the scene of the crash just after 9:10 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-20 in Hinds County near the 22-mile marker.

Preliminary reports indicate that a Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound when it attempted to change lanes to avoid an 18-wheeler parked on the shoulder. As the car was changing lanes, it was sideswiped by a motorcycle that was also traveling eastbound.

The driver of the motorcycle, David S. Reeves, 44, was ejected and died as a result of his injuries. The driver and the passenger in the Mustang were not injured.
