Mississippi State University has fired head football coach Joe Moorhead after two seasons.

Moorhead was hired in 2017 after former Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen left to become the head coach at Florida University. Moorhead came to MSU from Penn State where he was the offensive coordinator.

In two season as Mississippi State head coach, Moorhead had a record of 14-12. In both seasons, MSU failed to win a bowl game.

The firing comes after MSU’s loss to Louisville in the Music City Bowl 38-28.
