MSU running back threatens to quit if the flag isn’t changed

Mississippi State University starting running back Kylin Hill expressed his feelings on the state flag Monday, essentially saying he would rather quit than continue to play under the current flag.

Hill responded to Gov. Tate Reeves’s tweet about a proposal to create a second Mississippi flag.

Over the weekend there has been a proposal floating amongst some in the legislature to create a second Mississippi flag. Let’s call it the “Separate but Equal” flag option.

Hill responded, “Either change the flag or I won’t be representing this State anymore.”

Hill is a key player on the Bulldogs offense where he rushed for 1,350 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. Hill decided not to enter the 2020 NFL Draft in order to play his senior year with the Bulldogs.

Last week, both the SEC and the NCAA announced that no championships would be played in Mississippi under the current flag, which is the last state flag in the U.S. that contains Confederate symbolism.
