Multiple people injured in two-vehicle MVC on 61 North

At about 3:45 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 61 North, near the Family Dollar store.

A white SUV and a grey sedan collided on 61 North, in the northbound lane in front of Merit Health River Region. The accident resulted in full airbag deployment from both vehicles. Multiple people are being treated for injuries at the scene where Fire Medic 30, Fire Medic 20, Warren County Fire’s 207, Chuck Tate, FireBoss Jerry Briggs, Investigator Chris Lockridge, Warren County Sheriff’s deputies and Park Rangers all responded to the scene. The Mississippi Highway Patrol also responded to the call and arrived about 20 minutes after the first unit on scene.

A total of four people were injured and two were transported to the hospital, including one to UMMC by request.

The area was just cleared and there is no longer an impact on traffic in the area.
