Numerous calls on Wednesday to Greyhound drop off area
911 dispatched officers to the Greyhound drop-off area several times on Wednesday.
Officers were dealing with an individual who was kicked off of a bus overnight. One report stated the individual was removed from the bus for indecent exposure.
The unidentified young man was reported by another area business for erratic behavior inside their store. Police spoke with the individual and he left the property. Just before 2 p.m. the bus that was supposed to pick up the young man refused him entry. Another unit was dispatched and spent over 30 minutes talking to the driver, the passenger and Greyhound security.
This is one of several incidents that have occurred at the drop-off location in the past 30 days.
Shopkeepers at the shopping center have been complaining for some time about issues related to some of the Greyhound passengers in their parking lot. Concerns over security and a potential negative impact on traffic to their shops were expressed.
One shop told about a bus passenger who offered to trade “favors” in exchange for merchandise.
The return of the bus service was good news for the city, but security issues have plagued the current drop-off location, including this story where we were asked to stop filming. We kept filming.
