Shirley Pratt Bliss, 1942-2023

Our precious mother and wife Shirley Pratt Bliss passed at the age of 80 on April 20, 2023.
A resident of Edwards, MS, married to Benjamin F Bliss for 65 years, she was an exceptional gardener, teacher, mother and collector of beautiful things. Mother was small but mighty. She had poise and expected us to be the same.
Although not fond of silliness, she herself was very funny. We shall forever be blessed with the memories of her laughter and smile. She was born to Bill and Nellie Pratt of Missouri, May 19, 1942, a sibling of ten. Mother to six children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, she cherished and will forever be remembered by her family.
Mother was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Nellie Prat, her sisters Jean Mercer, Tammy Pratt , grandson Christopher Brandon Cortezie ,and son in law(Tom Biedenharn).
Survived by siblings Janie Kelly, Dorothy Bequette, Patty O’Hanlen, Willma Ottomeyer, Linda Stynard, Billy Pratt, Donnie Pratt and Butch Pratt.
Children Donna Bliss, Carol B Knott(William Knott), Michael S Bliss(Melissa Bliss) Darrin W Bliss, Aaron P Bliss(Carol Bliss), Kathleen B Blackburn( Drew Blackburn), (Tony Cortezie).
Grandchildren, Jessica Ross, Benjamin Biedenharn, Joe Johnson, William Wright, Sydney Cali, Logan Bliss, Patrick Bliss, Ashton Bliss, Isabella Bliss Elder Trey Overton, Zachary Overton and William Craven.
Great Grandchildren Christopher H Cortezie, Gibson Ross, Ezra Biedenharn, Rosalie Biedenharn, Violet Biedenharn, Margret Ross, Annie Wright, Charlsey Johnson Cameron Watts , Ocean Overton and Haylen Overton.
The funeral service will be held in Vicksburg MS at Glenwood Funeral home 145 HWY 80. Family Visitation 9:30 to 10 am , regular visitation 10a.m. until service at 12. Burial will be at Edwards Cemetery following the service.
