One dead and three injured in Clinton crash

One person died and three were injured in a crash this morning in Clinton.

The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 80 and Hampstead Boulevard, WLBT reports.

Clinton police pulled over a dark gray sedan for not having a license plate. The driver sped off as the officer approached the car and attempted to run the red light at the intersection, causing the crash.

The driver of the sedan was killed and the three passengers in the vehicle that collided with the sedan were injured.

The driver, a woman, had an extensive criminal background, police told WLBT.

Names of the victims have not been released.
