One in custody for early morning stabbing assault

Vicksburg Police Department announced the arrest and initial appearance of a Vicksburg woman charged with aggravated assault that resulted in a stabbing.

Melissa Winters, 50, of Vicksburg appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, Dec. 5, on a charge of aggravated assault.

Winters is accused of stabbing a family member in the mouth earlier that morning.

Judge Angela Carpenter set Winters’ bond at $50,000 and bound her over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
