To celebrate the 51st anniversary of Earth Day, city officials organized a community clean-up event and invited Vicksburg residents and businesses to participate.

Officials expected a turn-out of about 50 volunteers at the Washington Street park Thursday morning to take part in picking up litter and beautifying our city.  To their delight, over 120 people showed up to do their part in keeping Vicksburg beautiful.

The event is open for all ages and will continue until around noon.  Officials welcome anyone interested in participating to join the effort.  See more from the kick-off here.
