Many youths from Vicksburg and the surrounding areas attended DeAndre King’s Basketball Skill Camp on Saturday at Porter’s Chapel Academy.

King had help from coaches Walter Hallberg IV, Andre Terry, and King’s AAU girl’s basketball team. Kimberly Walker and Vanessa Walton also helped out with organizing the event as well.

Participants from ages 6 to 16 attended the camp where they learned proper fundamentals of basketball to help them become athletes.

Although the camp was a great learning experience for the individuals, the coaches held everyone to a high standards and kept a steady pace throughout the day.

Kids from all over the Vicksburg area got first hand experience with qualified coaches on how to play the game of basketball and how to put in hard work to be successful.

The camp lasted all day which provided each kid with a great workout along with the well coaching of the volunteers.

As of now, there is no official date for the next camp, but Vicksburg Daily News will keep everyone informed.
