Bad weather caused Porter’s Chapel Academy baseball game against Benton Academy to be postponed until Monday.

After a double by Taylor Labarre, PCA pulled in two scores due to a big hit by Chase Hearn. Both Laken Bradley and Gavin Pugh would soon get RBIs to give the Eagles a 4-0 lead.

Before the ending of the first, Benton would get a run from a ground out by Colton Ellis.

A single by Gage Palmer in the second inning would help PCA go up 5-1.

Thomas Azlin and Lawson Selby got a RBI to push the Eagles’ lead to 7-1 in top of the third.

Benton showed up out of nowhere in the bottom of third by racking up a few hits along with four walks to tie the game at seven.

Benton took a 8-7 lead in the fourth after a RBI by Ellis.

A scoreless fifth inning would push PCA to strive hard in the sixth where they regained the lead after a hit by Hearn that brought in two runs. Benton tied the game at nine by the end of the sixth.

After a pause in the game due to hail and lightning, Palmer doubled which led to two more runs as PCA got a 11-9 lead.

The game was eventually postponed in the bottom of the seventh with PCA winning 11-9 with one out. The game will be finished on Monday and if PCA wins they will turn around and play game three on the same day.
