PCA stomped Delta Academy 58-8; St. Aloysius fell short to ACCS in their season opener

Porter’s Chapel Academy crushed Delta Academy 58-8 on Friday night.

John Wyatt Massey took the snaps at quarterback where he completed 10 of 10 passes for 171 yards and four touchdowns. Jase Jung ran the ball seven times for 145 rushing yards and one touchdown while Ty Mack had five carries and 66 yards with a touchdown. He also had 77 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Taylor LaBarre had 37 rushing yards and a touchdown while Gavin Pugh also had a td as well. Thomas Azlin pitched in by getting 57 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, PCA held their own as Hunter Simms and Azlin both grabbed six tackles each while Massey and Henry Slayton each had a sack. Pugh and Azlin both got fumble recoveries and LaBarre had one interception.

The Eagles are now 2-0 on the season and they will travel to play Prentiss on Friday under Head Coach Blake Purvis.

St. Al

St. Aloysius took a 54-13 loss to Adams County Christian on Friday in their season opener.

The Flashes was down 13-0 in the first quarter until Carson Smith hit Robert Lee for a 25 yard touchdown.

By halftime, ACCS had a heavy lead which would eventually force a running clock in the second half.

Thompson Fortenberry had 13 carries for 54 yards and Pierson Smith had four carries for 24 yards and a touchdown. Lee had three catches, 33 yards and a touchdown while Sadler Lambiotte had three catches for 36 yards.

Smith completed 11 of 14 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.

Fortenberry also had an interception.

The Flashes will travel to Cathedral on Friday.
