Porter’s Chapel Academy baseball team took a tough 5-0 loss to Benton Academy on Monday.

Benton took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and wouldn’t get another run until the fifth where they  would profit the most after Colton Ellis singled to bring in two runs.

The Eagles had a tough time hitting in the loss as Benton’s JB Middleton struck out 11 batters.

Gage Palmer pitched the majority of the game for PCA as he struck out six on the night while giving up five hits. Taylor Labarre pitched in relief and struck out two.

PCA will travel to Benton on Thursday in game two of the series.
