PCA’s Tyler Washington is VDN Defensive Player of the Week

Porter’s Chapel Academy football player Tyler Washington is the Vicksburg Daily News Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Friday’s victory against Newton Academy.

Washington racked up 10 tackles and two sacks on defense for the Eagles as they went on to win 10-0 in the game Friday. He started as the team’s running back on offense, and barely came off the field in the game.

Washington not only did a great job on offense, but he also scored the only touchdown in the game when he took a handoff from quarterback Jace Riggs for 45 yards.

The Eagles will be at home this week as they will face Deer Creek Friday at 7 p.m.
