Pregnant woman shot in the head and killed in Jackson

A woman who was eight-months pregnant was shot in the head and killed in Jackson on Saturday.

21-year-old Ayairia Anderson was leaving Scoop’s, which is a restaurant on Country Club Drive when she was struck in th head and leg. Her vehicle eventually crashed at an overpass and she was taken to UMMC by ambulance. An emergency C-section was performed but the baby did not survive.

The case has has been ruled as a homicide and due to a Mississippi law the suspect can face two murder charges.
