Reed and Sterling helped Hinds to two playoff wins

Hinds Community College knocked off Jones CC twice on Saturday to advance to the next round of the playoffs.

Vicksburg natives Caleb Sterling and Vantrel Reed both had outstanding performances.

Reed went 2 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs along with his two run scores in the series, while teammate Sterling hit two home runs on the night.

Matthew Taylor was on the mound most of the night for the Eagles contributing to the dual victory over the Bobcats 9-4 and 13-5.

Hinds will advance in the playoffs and take on Pearl River CC on Monday, May 17.
