River City Distribution to play for a championship on Thursday

After a 8-2 win Tuesday night at the Halls Ferry Park, River City Distribution will advance to the championship game on Thursday.

Lilyanna Wooten hit an in-the-park solo homerun and went 2 for 3 on the night with two RBIs. Marie Bourne also hit an in-the-park homerun with 2 RBIs and went 2 for 3 as well.

RCD continued to hit the ball as the night went on with the ladies racking up 12 more singles. Kaleigh Bell hit an in-the-park solo homerun and went 3 for 3 before the night was over.

RCD is a 8U softball team with the Vicksburg Girl’s Softball Association and they are coached by Tommy Sherman, Ben Luckett and Marilyn Sherman.

The Championship Game will be held on Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at the Halls Ferry Park.
