Shedeur Sanders named as the SWAC Newcomer of the Week

Jackson State University quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been named the SWAC Newcomer of the Week for his performance on Saturday against Alabama A&M.

In the 61-15 win, Sanders scored a total of five touchdowns. He threw four and ran for one while going 17 for 24 with 249 passing yards.

Sanders is a freshman and has helped lead JSU to a 4-1 record.

JSU will host Alabama State on Saturday for homecoming.
