Shedeur Sanders wins the Jerry Rice Award

Jackson State University’s Shedeur Sanders has been named as the 2021 recipient of the Stats Perform Jerry Rice Award.

Sanders is currently having a phenomenal season as the starting quarterback for the Tigers. He has now thrown for 2,971 yards and 28 touchdowns while leading JSU to a SWAC Championship a couple of weeks ago.

The Jerry Rice Award is given to the national freshman player of the year in Division I FCS. Sanders will be honored on Jan. 7 in Frisco, Texas.
