Sherman Avenue Elementary School celebrates partnership with CITGO and Bess the Book Bus

Sherman Avenue Elementary School has been fostering a meaningful partnership with Mr. Mark Gehris and the CITGO terminal in Vicksburg for several years. Through this collaboration, the school has received a generous donation of thousands of books each year, enriching the lives of their students and promoting a love for reading. This year, the school had an extra reason to celebrate as they welcomed CITGO’s Bess the Book Bus to their campus on May 22 for an exciting book giveaway event.

The partnership between Sherman Avenue Elementary School and CITGO has been instrumental in nurturing a passion for reading among the students. By providing an abundance of books, CITGO has played a vital role in ensuring that every child at the school has access to literature and the opportunity to explore the wonders of storytelling.

During the recent event, Bess the Book Bus, a mobile literacy outreach program, arrived at Sherman Avenue Elementary School to conduct a special book giveaway.
