Tasty Tuesday: Cocktails 101

Jonathan Abogado, a mixologist from the Philippines, left his career in the cruise line industry in 2003 to support his wife’s career goals in education. He met Maryann Willis at a Fil-American gathering and soon they joined forces to open Cocktails 101 Restaurant & Bar in downtown Vicksburg.
“We are truly blessed and humbled by all the support and kindness of our community,” Abogado said.
Maryann Willis grew up in the Philippines with three brothers and two sisters, and hardworking parents that she says taught her to face life head-on. She came to America 21 years ago, and credits her parents for her success in the restaurant industry.
“I used to not know how to cook and now I am the one who does the training for our cooks, and I am so proud of myself,” Willis beamed.
