Third gas leak in 24 hours reported in effort to install fiber optic lines

Another gas leak has been reported in the effort to install fiber optic lines within the city.

On Wednesday morning, crews struck a gas line in the area of Polk and Drummond.

Vicksburg Fire Department and city crews are working the scene to get the leak under control.

On Tuesday, a gas line was ruptured twice in the same area, followed by another gas leak at Pemberton Plaza as crews were working to address the draining issue.

Residents are urged to use caution in the areas where the new cables are being installed.
