A traffic stop early Monday morning ended with two local men behind bars.

Just after 2 a.m. Monday, officers stopped a vehicle on Halls Ferry Road near Evelyn Street.  A search of the vehicle yielded both marijuana and ecstasy.

The driver of the vehicle was Michael Carson, 20, who was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance.  The passenger, Kynard Johnson, 23, was charged with one count of possession of marijuana and one count of trafficking a controlled substance.

Both men went before Judge Angela Carpenter Monday in Vicksburg Municipal Court.  Carson’s bond was set at $30,000 and Johnson’s bond was set at $80,000, with both bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
