Two injured in crash on 61 South

Two people were injured in a wreck on 61 South.

At about 8:40 a.m., two vehicles collided on 61 South in the northbound lane near Gaines Road.

A 64-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man both complained of injuries.

A red pickup truck with a trailer made contact with the back of a white sedan. Both vehicles suffered significant damage.

WC-41, Daniel Thomas, was the first unit on the scene and rendered assistance to the injured man who was lying on the ground.

The Vicksburg Police Department will take charge of investigation.
