USM defeated Southeast Missouri 21-0 on Saturday

The University of Southern Mississippi baseball team knocked off Southeast Missouri State 21-0 on Saturday.

Chris Sargent came up with three home runs in the blowout, half of the Golden Eagles’ total of six.

Reed Trimble and Gabe Montenegro both had five hits for USM. Sargent and Kimble also racked in five RBIs a piece.

Walker Powell got the win for the Golden Eagles as he pitched six innings and racked up four strikeouts in the huge victory.

As a whole, USM collected a total of 24 hits and will advance to either play Florida State or Ole Miss on Sunday at 1 p.m.
