Just before noon Thursday, Entergy workers responded to a report of a broken utility pole on North Frontage Road near its intersection with Confederate Avenue. They discovered an abandoned red Dodge Journey in a heavily wooded ravine near the broken pole. Evidence shows the vehicle was the cause of the break.

The SUV is barely visible from the road (photo by David Day).

Officers from the Vicksburg Police Department and Vicksburg firefighters along with Entergy workers are searching the immediate area around the crash scene to make certain no one was ejected from the vehicle.

Electrical service in this general area may be affected as repairs are made.

The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
