Former Vicksburg High School assistant football coach Jimbo Nowell has accepted a head coaching job at Heidelberg High School.

The news of Nowell’s new position came on Tuesday after multiple reports confirmed his appointment.

Nowell recently served as VHS’s  defensive line and powerlifting head coach. He also led the powerlifting team to a 2021 state championship.

Nowell is no stranger to football, as he has coached at many schools on a colligate level such as Mississippi State, Pearl River CC, LSU, as well as many high schools over the years.

Over the past year, Nowell has helped local players reach their athletic goals and the community wishes him well on his new head coaching opportunity.
