Vicksburg Daily News fourth grade female player of the week: Layla Johnson

Layla Johnson led her team to victory Monday scoring all the team’s points to bring home the win.

Johnson plays for the Lady Mustangs which consists of third and fourth graders from the Vicksburg-Warren School District.

The Lady Mustangs played against the Blue Crush Jan. 6, ending with a 20-8 Lady Mustang victory.

The Lady Mustangs are now 2-1, and Johnson is averaging 14 points per game. She is leading the league in points.

Johnson is a fourth-grader at Warrenton Elementary and loves the game of basketball.

The Lady Mustangs will face the Flashes on Monday, Jan. 13, at 5:30 p.m.
