Vicksburg Police searching for armed robbery suspect

At 5:58 a.m. today, Vicksburg Police officers responded to an armed robbery at the BG Junior convenience store, 4110 Clay St.

A few minutes earlier, a black male had entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanded the store clerk give him the money from the cash register.

The clerk complied and the suspect left the store, running west on Clay Street.

The suspect is a black male and was wearing a gray sweatshirt, dark colored pants, red athletic shoes and a white hat. His face was covered by a black mask.

This is an active investigation.
