The Vicksburg YMCA hosted their 73rd Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday at the Vicksburg National Military Park.

Many people came out to enjoy the service which started at 7:00 a.m. on Fort Hill Drive.

YMCA Executive Director Phillip Doiron started things off by welcoming everyone and introducing YMCA Board of Director’s President Blake Teller and ministers James Archer and Beth Palmer.

Music was conducted by Kristy Brumfield who’s wonderful voice could be heard throughout the park.

Archer delivered the sermon where he shared the story of when Jesus had risen on the third day after his crucifixion.

The Easter Sunrise lasted for about 45 minutes and the YMCA will continue their tradition next year.
