Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace announced Monday that an arrest has been made following a shooting that occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug 23.

Pace said Nicholas Brown, 19, was in his Jeep Grand Cherokee outside his home at 3250 Grange Hall Road when he shot at a passing Chevrolet Impala with a 9-mm pistol. Two adults and a 16-year-old were in the vehicle at the time.

No one was injured in the incident, but authorities found a bullet hole thought to be from a 9 mm gun in the trunk of the victim’s vehicle.

Brown was in possession of a 9-mm handgun in addition to two .22-caliber rifles and a .22 pistol that had been reported stolen. He was arrested and charged with drive-by shooting, aggravated assault and possession of a stolen firearm.

Brown was already out on bond after having been indicted by the May term of the Warren County grand jury for receiving stolen property. In Brown’s court appearance Monday, Justice Court Judge James Jefferson denied bail.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.
