Warren County hazardous waste collection day set for June 6
June 6, you have the opportunity to get rid of most of that stuff around your house and garage that shouldn’t go into your normal trash. Warren County’s annual hazardous waste collection day is a week from Saturday at Sherman Avenue Elementary School from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
In addition to hazardous waste and some not-so-hazardous waste (see the lists below), you’ll be able to get documents shredded (please remove all metal including staples, paper clips and binder clips), and the county will provide proper disposal of American flags.
The event is co-sponsored by the Warren County Board of Supervisors and the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality.
This is the 21st year for the event, and it will be a little different due to COVID-19 precautions. Katie Strong, director of environmental and waste services for Warren County, says the public will be asked to remain in their vehicles and items will be collected by personnel staffing the event.
The event will be held rain or shine.
