Warren County supervisors vote to remove old state flag from county properties
The Warren County Board of Supervisors voted Monday to coordinate the removal of the state flag from county properties and retire it to the Old Court House Museum.
Board Attorney Blake Teller explained that the state statute that was recently enacted gave the board nine days remaining to take some form of action. Teller said the state action covered the legal hurdle of the actual retirement. He further explained that the Board action today covered removing them from county buildings and what would become of them.
District 5 Supervisor Kelle Barefield said she felt confident that Bubba Bolm, curator of the museum would gladly accept them.
District 3 Supervisor Shawn Jackson asked that the board to consider adding a POW-MIA flag to the board room. The board agreed to address the issue in their work session next Monday due to Supervisor Edward Herring being absent.
