Warren Central baseball player Conner Watkins made the State Games of Mississippi Team.

The State Games of Mississippi is an All-Star event where players from each district tryout for their district team. Watkins was one out of a few athletes to be selected to represent district 6.

“It should be a really fun week and it’s a great opportunity to be around other good baseball players and coaches,” Watkins said.

Tryouts was held on June 6 at Hinds CC  and practice/games will be held from June 12-16 at Meridian CC.

Watkins, who was selected to the VDN All-County Team after throwing 47 strikeouts and earning 20 hits in 2023, will be representing District 6 against the top athletes from other districts.

“Mississippi has some good baseball and I’m honored to be selected to the district 6 team,” Watkins added.
