WC fell short in game two against St. Martin

Warren Central High School softball team fell short against St. Martin in a 5-4 loss.

St. Martin took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and would eventually go up by three in the fourth inning. The Lady Vikes would get on the board later in the game after a single from Abby Morgan.

By the fifth, St. Martin had a 4-1 lead until Makayla Jackson got a quick hit followed by a sacrifice from Zion Harvey to put the score at 4-2.

WC tied the game at four in the sixth after Lola Crozier singled while Adalyn Anderson scored from a wild pitch. Mary Evelyn Hossley would bunt a short time later which led to the run that tied the game.

WC and St.Martin both found themselves in a struggle to get a run late in the game where they would eventually go eight innings. The Yellow Jackets would eventually score from an error in the eighth to win the game.

Jenn Smith went 2 for 3 at the plate while Maddy Pant, Crozier, Jackson, and Morgan all had one hit.

Morgan struck out five and Pant struck out two.

The Lady Vikes will host St. Martin at home on Monday.
