Warren Central High School football team opened their season with a 28-7 win over Clinton on Friday night.

The Vikings pounded the ball down the field early as Eric Collins Jr. took it in for a 36-yard touchdown. Jonah Artman came in with the good extra point to put the score at 7-0.

The Arrows attempted to respond but Garrett Orgas-Fisher grabbed a big tackle to force a turnover. WC went back to the run game as Ronnie Blossom picked some dirty yards. Maddox Lynch took it in for the score a couple of plays later.

By the second quarter, the Viking defense still continued to stand strong as Larry Reynolds Jr. kept applying pressure on the line. Freshman quarterback Nash Morgan stepped in and hit Jaylon Winters on a 42 yard pass to the 1-yard line. Lynch ran it in for another score on the next play to put the Vikings up 21-0.

Before halftime, Reynolds forced a turnover after a sack. Collins scored again on a 20-yard run on the next play.

TK Qualls blasted Clinton’s quarterback just shortly before halftime as WC stayed up by four touchdowns.

Things slowed down offensively for WC in the second half, but defensively they continued to dominate.
