Williams faces Judge Carpenter on charges from Wednesday morning drug bust

Duane Williams is making his first court appearance before Judge Angela Carpenter today, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. in the Vicksburg Municipal Court.

Carpenter will formally charge Williams with two counts of aggravated trafficking of narcotics and four counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, as well as determine what, if any, bond will be set.

Williams, who is on federal parole for narcotics charges, was apprehended Wednesday, Sept. 16, in possession of 9 kilos of marijuana, 2,700 Ecstasy pills, three handguns, a rifle and $3,770 in cash, all of which was seized by the Vicksburg Police Department.
