During Friday’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, the board approved Tabatha Martin-Crawford as the new COVID-19 compliance officer for the city.

Martin-Crawford is a former officer with the Vicksburg Police Department and an investigator with the Attorney General’s office.

In her new role, she will patrol the city’s businesses to ensure they are complying with COVID-19 regulations and also provide security for the mayor’s office.

“We believe she will be a great asset for the City of Vicksburg,” Mayor George Flaggs Jr. said.

Businesses not adhering to the city’s COVID-19 regulations will receive one warning, and then a fine of $1,000 if they do not comply.
