Jacques’ closure extends through weekend, making room for city’s Mega Bucs Catfish Tournament

Jacques’ will remain closed until at least Monday.
After a hearing in Sunflower County on Friday, Jacques’ owner Jay Parmegiani said the court ruled they will remain closed through the weekend. The court will meet again on Monday and rule on the fate of the beleaguered local watering hole.
Mayor George Flaggs said he will issue a statement after the court rules on Monday. He also confirmed the upcoming Mega Bucs Catfish Tournament will use Parmegiani’s parking lot.
The timing of the ruling is fortuitous for the city. They’ve installed power outlets and set up parking barricades in Parmegiani’s parking lot for the tournament at the Vicksburg Convention Center. Parmegiani’s parking lot would normally be full with his guests on a Friday night, but it will instead be housing fishing boats for the city-sponsored event.
