Vicksburg Fire Chief Craig Danczyk and Deputy Chiefs Derrick Stamps and Trey Martin have decades of experience between them of looking after the folks of Vicksburg and Warren County.  They know that every summer there are many heat related illnesses, injuries, and sometimes even deaths; and they want you to know how to be safe as we move into what looks to be a very hot summer ahead.

June, July and August are typically the hottest months in Mississippi, with heat indexes often over 100 degrees.  It is important to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities in the afternoon when temperatures peak, and remember to look after your neighbors and pets.
