Vicksburg High School head basketball coach Kelvin Carter has been selected to coach in the North/South All-Star Basketball Game.

“I’m very honored by being selected to coach in this game again and it’s still a vey shocking feeling but it makes me think back to Philippians 4:13 that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” Carter said. “Everything I do is for my players and I’m so proud that they believe in me.”

Carter will help coach the North team in the All-Star Game as he did last year when the North defeated the South 73-71.

Carter was selected by the Mississippi Association of Coaches for his performances last season where led the Gators to a 17-8 season and was name the VDN Head Basketball Coach of the Year.

Carter is is heading into his fifth season as head coach after being named the interim head coach in 2017. He will take his young team on the road on Thursday to face Germantown.

The All Star Game will be held at Mississippi College on March 19, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.
