Vicksburg will host a tournament for one of the fastest-growing sports in the nation next month.

American Cornhole Regional Director Jeff Richburg is responsible for bringing the event to the River City. He expects to have a big turnout at the Convention Center on April 11.

The tournament will not only be for those who are familiar with the sport. There will be a beginner’s section for those who want to familiarize themselves with the sport.

“All ages are welcome to this event, and everyone can come out and have a good time,” Richburg said.

In Vicksburg, folks meet at Jacques downtown every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. to play cornhole and have fun. The fee is $10.

Registration for the tournament will begin April 11 at 9 a.m and the games will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Vicksburg Convention Center, 1600 Mulberry St. The fees are $10 to $15 depending on the division entered.
