Although St. Aloysius had a big second half, the Flashes fell short on Friday night in a 33-16 loss to Brookhaven Academy.

The Flashes went toe-to-toe with BA in the first quarter especially after John David Liggett caught an interception. St. Al didn’t score on the next drive but the Flashes defense forced a fumble that led to Thomas Dowe knocking down a 39 yard field goal.

BA would eventually get a long touchdown  followed by two more on third and fourth downs as they went up 21-3 at halftime.

St. Al came out in the second half and stopped BA defensively until a penalty was called that gave them a first down and eventually led to a score. The Flashes responded when Carson Smith threw a quick pass to Liggett for a 70 yard touchdown.

On defense, Will Dowe stepped up and caught a interception that gave the Flashes the ball back.

Smith would also hit Jake Brister for a 36 yard touchdown before the end of the night.

The Flashes will host Adams County Christian on Friday.
