PCA crushed Hillcrest with a combined score of 46-12 in a doubleheader

Porter’s Chapel Academy softball team had a field day against Hillcrest Academy on Saturday.

“I’m proud of how we played today and we hit the ball really well and the girls really stepped up in base-running,” PCA Head Coach Chandler Upton said.

Game one:

The Lady Eagles quickly grabbed a 24-5 win as they gathered 18 runs in the first inning.

PCA racked up 12 hits in the first game with Marley Bufkin leading the way by going 4 for 4 with one RBI and a double. Natalie Cantin also went 2 for 2 with three RBIs and a double.

Kendall Smith, Jaycee Vines, Mia Abdo, Emily Muirhead, Sophie Masterson, and Emily Phillipson all had a hit.

Muirhead threw a no-hitter and struck out six on the day.

Game two:

PCA got a 22-7 win in game two where the Lady Eagles got another 12 hits.

Cantin went 3 for 4 at the plate with four RBIs along with Phillipson and Bufkin went 2 for 2. Phillipson also had two RBIs. Muirhead, Abdo, Audrey Carraway, Ali Blackmon, and Kendall Smith each had a hit.

Masterson struck out five in the victory.
