The St. Aloysius Junior High softball team defeated Tallulah Academy 4-3 on Monday.

Marley Gibellino put the Lady Flashes on the board in the second inning with a single, which allowed Kay Radar to score. TA responded with a couple of runs to take the 2-1 lead.

In the third inning, Presley Carr tied the game with a hit, setting up Addie G. Clay to sprint for the run score. Kennadi Blassingame then stepped up and hit an inside-the-park home run on a line drive, assisting Carr in putting the score at 4-2.

The Lady Trojans managed to score one more run in the game, but St. Al ultimately prevailed.

Blassingame went 2 for 2 with two RBIs, while Carr and Gibellino both contributed one hit and one RBI. Clay and Radar each finished the night with a run.

Madelyn Kavanaugh pitched a no-hitter with five strikeouts, and Mallory Spencer also delivered a clutch performance with a no-hitter, striking out three.

St. Al is set to host Riverfield on Thursday.
