A Jones County man has been sentenced for a 2022 murder.

49-year-old Marty Breazeale pleaded guilty to second degree murder of his former girlfriend Brittany Nicole Holifield. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison by Judge Dal Williamson.

Breazeale made a full confession of the crime where he admitted to hitting Holifield and placing her body in the Leaf River. He will have to serve every year of his sentence.
