Karie Lynch was recently recognized by the Mississippi School Nurse Association as the 2020 School Nurse of the Year.

Lynch, who works for the Vicksburg-Warren School District, received her recognition late due to the COVID-19 pandemic a few years ago which caused a cancellation of the 2020 conference. This year’s conference was held in Tupelo. Other nurses were also being recognized for their 2020 achievments.

The school nurses in each region choose a fellow nurse who demonstrates leadership and professionalism in the school district, community, MSNA or NASN, and other professional organizations. Nurses who strive to learn and contribute to school nursing to help improve their practice and the profession of school nursing to benefit their students are voted in by their peers.
