MHP Trooper killed on Highway 16

A Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper was killed on Highway 16 after being struck by an 18-wheeler.
The road is currently blocked as police work the scene. The incident happened around 4 p.m. in Madison County.
Early reports indicate that an air care unit was called to fly him to UMC but perished before he could receive care.
This is a developing situation and the name has not yet been released.
